About Wild Spruce Art Works

Wild Spruce Art Works was formed in November of 2019 in order to provide a convenient and reliable distribution and marketing service to local artists and authors in the wake of the dissolution of Taku Graphics: Alaska Art and Books. Wild Spruce is owned and operated by Elizabeth Ekins and Devin Perrupato.

Though Elizabeth did not grow up in Alaska, she spent much of her childhood here. As the granddaughter of a bush pilot and the woman who wrote Juneau’s hiking book, Elizabeth spent her summers beachcombing at low tide, picking all the berries, and getting her boots stuck in the mud flats. At a crossroads in her life, in 2009 Elizabeth decided to come home to her favorite place in the world. From November 2009 to July 2019 she worked for the local independent bookstore, Hearthside Books, and for the last several years served as the gift buyer there.

Devin grew up in Anchorage and Wasilla where she delighted in long walks on the trails with her dogs before she finally settled in Juneau. There she spends her free time in the summer hiking, gardening, and enjoying the beauty Southeast Alaska has to offer.  She has spent a year at Taku Graphics managing inventory and fulfilling orders.

We feel that with our combined experience and our deep personal connections to Alaska, we will be able to lead Wild Spruce Art Works’ artists into the future with energy, vibrancy, enthusiasm, reliability, and consistency. We love the art that this magnificent place inspires and are excited to share it.
