"I'm inspired by the nearly unbelievable adventures of my Alaskan life. I feel compelled to express to others what life can be like here--the wonders as well as the challenges.  Every painting is a true story. Though these stories all spring from my life, I feel they reveal how we are all in this wild life together.  I trust that there are others out there like me, who have the same kind of adventurous, troublesome and amazing lifestyle that I do.  They'll see through the struggle to the underlying drawing, and understand my story because they've lived it too.  And then all the risk and work will be worth it."
