SUZIE ALTHENS

Suzie Althens lives on a lake 100 miles east of Anchorage in a log home that she and her husband built together twenty years ago. She paints children, florals, portraits, and landscapes. She says, "If I am going to be on time for an appointment, I have to leave my camera at home!"
With every curve on Alaska's highways, the view changes and there is another breathtaking vista. Tourists and residents alike stop to enjoy the spectacular landscape, but if they were to look closer they would see another kind of beauty: the wildflowers. Suzie's art depicts the beauty of these Alaska gems.
